Venue
The conference will take place at the Luigi Zordan Congress Center, nestled within the 14th-century San Basilio Monastery on the campus of the University of L’Aquila.
L’Aquila is a historic medieval city in central Italy—about 100 km northeast of Rome, perched at 700 m above sea level at the foot of the majestic Gran Sasso peak. Rich in architectural beauty, cultural heritage, and medieval charm, it is affectionately known as the “City of 99” — a tribute to its legendary founding by 99 castles, each contributing a church, a fountain, and a piazza. This heritage is epitomized by the iconic Fontana delle 99 cannelle (Fountain of the 99 Spouts).
Despite the devastation from the 2009 earthquake, the city has undergone remarkable restoration, preserving its historical character while embracing renewal and innovation. Home to the respected University of L’Aquila, the city blends resilience, academic excellence, and natural beauty—making it a truly compelling destination.
